| Some muggle band. Hate it, actually, but it annoys my parents. |

What the bloody hell I was thinking when I decided staying in my room was preferable to living in a tent, I don't know. There's not much left of summer, right? I can put up with it all another week, can't I?
You bet I can put up with it another sodding week.
I'm not going to compromise, though. Who cares if the shirt and jeans are what muggles wear? 's not like I'm going to get muggle on me just by wearing the same fashions around the house, is it? I'll wear whatever I bloody well please, thanks.
Enough of that. These journals are actually fairly brilliant. James... you lot remember when we had that note back in second year, right? The one you, me, Remus, and Peter wrote on during class and writing would appear on each other's papers? This is a lot the same. We could be rich men right now if we'd thought to take it the extra step.
I've already bought my books, but I'm thinking of going back to Diagon on my own for that tent I mentioned earlier. What d'you lot think? Good plan? Bad? Brilliant?

With the induction into the Order only days away, Sirius was getting antsy. Staying cooped up at his place just wasn't the sort of thing that was good for him right now. He was fairly sure that even just the hours between when he woke up and now had been long enough for him to wear a groove into the floor from all of the pacing he had been doing.
Stepping out for a walk had seemed the thing to do, and as the sunshine hit him, Sirius had to grin.
This was one of those rare perfect days when all of the clouds had wandered off to another section of Britain and actually left one small section alone to dry out.
Sirius wasn't alone in enjoying the summer day. Just off to his left was a playground full of kids and their parents taking advantage of the dry weather. He glanced at them, but didn't pay much mind as he continued his stroll.
Until, of course, the sound of the Muggle ice-cream van started up. The tinny music was enough to stop Sirius dead in his tracks and send him on a path that made straight for the van. Last summer he had discovered that he loved what the muggles could do with a desert. It was almost like magic.

It hadn't really hit Sirius until he had taken his favorite seat in the Hogwarts compartment (the one on the right after entering the compartment, the seat closest to the window). Sirius had been hedging on it hitting him when he finished packing after the feast, but... well... things had happened.
It was hitting him now, though.
They were leaving Hogwarts for the last time as students.
That thought foremost in mind, Sirius kept his chin propped on his hand and stared out the window, brooding. He had been excited about the prospects that waited for him outside of school, but it felt like he had run out of time for something. Sirius hated missing out on anything.
"There's the last time we'll see that tree," he intoned, pointing out the lone pine that he had nicknamed 'Phil' on his first trip to Hogwarts. He was fairly certain James had thought he was mental at that time. Course, now he knew that Sirius was mental, but that was beside the point.
